Andrew, his wife Mollie, son Drew (age 19), and daughter Emilie (age 15) came to New Hope in 2020 from Griffin First UMC where Andrew served for 3 years as both the Lead Pastor of The Branch and Executive Pastor. Before serving in Griffin, Andrew was the Founding Pastor of Connexion UMC in Covington, GA. He has served churches in Griffin, Covington, Conyers, Marietta, and Lake City, GA.
Andrew grew up in Conyers, GA and graduated from Heritage High School in 1996. He then graduated from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL., in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a minor in Sociology. After college, Andrew worked as a Case Manager at Cobb DFCS before moving into full time ministry. Andrew then attended Candler School of Theology at Emory University and graduated with his Masters of Divinity Degree in 2011. While attending Jacksonville State, Andrew met Mollie and they were married in 2002 at McEachern Memorial UMC. McEachern is also where Andrew answered God’s call into ministry under the leadership of Rev Dr. Robin Lindsey and Rev. Jerry McCurdy. Andrew is a Full Connection Elder of the United Methodist Church.
Andrew has a heart for missions and is proud to have been able to be a part of the leadership of mission teams to Kenya, Brazil, Honduras, and throughout the United States. He and Mollie have a passion for evangelism, missions, and seeing individuals and groups excited about serving Christ both locally and globally. Connecting new people to Jesus in innovative ways is something he and Mollie are passionate about and they are excited about the opportunity to reach out in Gainesville, Cumming, Dawsonville, and beyond. They take seriously the call to go out sharing the good news of Christ not only globally but in their own back yard. It is their vision to see the church continue to grow as a dynamic worshiping community and they are extremely grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it!
Andrew is also a Captain in the US Army serving as a Batallion Chaplain. He currently serves the 457th CRBN Battalion in Greenville, SC. Working as special staff to the Batallion Comander, he works to meet the religious needs and accommodations for over 500 soilders in 5 differnt compaines though out South Carolina and Georgia.
